Applications open on 25 September 2025 and close on 24 October 2025, giving candidates 30 days to complete the process. The upper age limit for unreserved candidates is 30 years. On qualifications, the notification states: Chemical Science — M.Sc / Equivalent Degree with 55% Marks for General / OBC Candidates. For SC / ST and PH  Candidates : 50% Marks. Integrated Course and B.E/ B.Tech / B.Pharma and MBBS Candidates Are Also Eligible for CSIR NET 2024. If your degree is an equivalent under a different name, look for the equivalence clause in the official PDF before paying the fee — a form rejected for a qualification mismatch is not usually refundable.

Fee-paying categories are charged between ₹325 and ₹1,150, depending on category. Payment is accepted via debit card, credit card, net banking, and UPI. Pay only through the official portal linked on this page; the fee is normally non-refundable once the form is submitted.

Document verification is where otherwise-successful candidates most often fall out, usually over a missing category certificate or a name mismatch across documents. Assemble originals plus self-attested photocopies well before the date, and get any discrepancy in spelling or date of birth corrected in advance — it cannot be resolved on the day.
