Indian Railways recruits through Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) and Railway Recruitment Cells (RRC). The age limit runs from 18 to 36 years for unreserved candidates. That is an 18-year band, so candidates near either edge should confirm the exact cut-off date the notification measures age against — it is usually a fixed reference date, not the date you apply. On qualifications, the notification states: Class 10th / Matric (High School) from Any Recognized Board in India. If your degree is an equivalent under a different name, look for the equivalence clause in the official PDF before paying the fee — a form rejected for a qualification mismatch is not usually refundable.

Fee-paying categories are charged between ₹250 and ₹500, depending on category. Payment is accepted via debit card, credit card, net banking, and UPI. Pay only through the official portal linked on this page; the fee is normally non-refundable once the form is submitted.

For this level of recruitment the written stage is a filter and the physical test is the real eliminator. Train for the PET events named in the notification in parallel with written preparation rather than after the result.
